It’s Halloween and that means it’s time to get your spook on!

A Nightmare On Elm Street Co-Op

Nintendo Entertainment System (1990)
Runners: Skavenger216FeaselJamEvilCantaloupeme

The first speedrun we are checking out is from Awesome Games Done Quick 2017, and features a rare 4 player co-op run of Nightmare on Elm Street. The world record still holds today, but that’s only because it was the only 4-player co-op attempt that has been made.

Silent Hill

Playstation (1999)
Runner: tekkie

Next up we have a game from the classic horror series Silent Hill. The run happened at Awesome Games Done Quick 2015 and was run by tekkie. The world record uses in game time, which Tekkie nailed at a flat 35 minutes, but since this run, the world record has been beat several times and now stands at 31 minutes and 21 seconds by Aaron.

Diablo III

PC (2012)
Runners: meatr0oHecksonWhisperra

OK, so this isn’t exactly a horror game, but if you think about it, it definitely has some spooky aspects. This run took place at Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 and was a co-op run where meatr0o, Heckson, and Whisperra beat the previous record of 1:20:52 (set by the same guys plus a 4th, blakjack) by just over a minute. The record still holds today.

inFamous: Festival of Blood

Playstation 3 (2011)
Runner: sk84uhlivin

The final game we are checking out on our spooky speedrun world record list is inFamous: Festival of Blood run at Awesome Games Done Quick 2015. Sk84uhlivin crushed the previous record by almost 10 minutes to claim the title at 26 minutes and 54 seconds. The record has been beaten twice since then and stands at 23 minutes and 38 seconds by SerSanju.
